We have compiled a list of important things to consider when choosing a bridal hairstylist for your big day.

Stylist

When choosing a bridal stylist, it is important to remember the difference between a hair stylist and a bridal hair stylist. A bridal stylist is someone that specialises in the wedding hair trade. We have spent years building up our bridal portfolio with a list of awards to back it, these include Ireland’s No 1 Bridal Stylist 2017, two time winner of Sligo’s No 1 Wedding Stylist and two time winner of Connacht Hairdresser of the Year.

Referrals

Within this industry referrals and recommendations are always the best form of advertising for a bridal stylist. As a result we haven’t advertised or attended wedding fairs in the last 3 years. It is important to do your research for your wedding day and ask previous brides for recommendations.

Bridal Gallery

Look through your top stylists’ previous bridal images as this will give you an idea of their style and enable you to decide if their work is suited to your tastes.

Bridal Parties

Before booking, ensure your bridal party number can be accommodated for. With bigger bridal parties and attending guests, we can accommodate as many as you need. We have 4 bridal stylists between our two salons: Gemma, Nicola, Katinka and Karolina.

Travel

It is important to find out if your chosen bridal hair stylist is available to travel to your hotel or family home for the morning of your big day. Find out if there is a travel limit as this may reduce your options. At Gemma Crossan, we can travel nationwide, however the fee will increase the further we have to travel from the salon. When we provide a quote to our brides, our call out fees not only include diesel expenses but also a charge to cover business lost at the salon during travel times.

If your still unsure, we recommend that you book a trial as this will put to rest any lingering doubts or answer any questions that you may have.
